About Russell L Martin-
Martin,
54, brings extensive law enforcement experience, education and
established relationships to the office of Delaware County Sheriff. He
is serving in his 31st year of law enforcement, all of it with the
Delaware department, including the last eight years as Chief. Martin
oversaw a nearly 60-person department, including 51 sworn officers, and
an annual budget of nearly $7 million.
Martin
started his law enforcement career in 1981 as a patrol officer,
followed by promotion to Sergeant, and time in the Detective Division.
Last year, Martin was selected by his peers in law enforcement to serve
as President of the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, an
organization committed to advancing best practices in law enforcement
and developing law enforcement managers to best serve their communities.
