Jon Peterson for County Treasurer?

The only person on the voting ballot for County Treasurer is candidate Jon Peterson of the Republican Party.

About Jon Peterson-
Peterson comes to the Office of Treasurer with extensive experience in county government in Ohio.  He served as Deputy Auditor of Franklin County from 1980 – 1984.  During his service, Peterson prepared the county’s first Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for which the county earned the coveted Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting, the first county in Ohio to receive the designation.
Peterson was appointed Finance Director of Franklin County in 1985 and served in that capacity for two years.  During that period, Peterson automated the county budget preparation process for the Board of Commissioners and was instrumental in restructuring the county’s debt portfolio.
In January of 1987, he was appointed as Chief Deputy Auditor of Delaware County and was elected Auditor of Delaware County in November of 1990.  During his service as Auditor of Delaware County Peterson implemented the county’s first automated financial management and payroll systems.  The Delaware Auditor Land Information system (DALIS) implemented during his tenure has received national recognition for creative, innovative and efficient public applications.
Peterson served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 until 2009 where his service and work were highlighted by advocacy on behalf of some of Ohio’s most vulnerable citizens including children and adults with autism, persons suffering from mental illness, those with physical and development disabilities and children facing the crisis of daily hunger.  For his work on behalf of Ohio citizens, Peterson has received dozens of special recognitions from notable national, state and local organizations.
Peterson enters his service as Treasurer of Delaware County with a pledge to make the office more convenient and accessible to the citizens of Delaware County.  In his first month in office Peterson, moved quickly to begin to honor his commitment to institute real estate escrow payment plans and to make the option of paying taxes online available to residents.  It is expected these innovations will be in place by early 2010.
Peterson received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ohio Wesleyan University; a Master of Public Administration degree from Florida Atlantic University and Juris Doctorate from the Capital University Law School.
